Solveig serves as the development team lead for Reykjavik's digital welfare innovation team. She works with a diverse group of developers, testers, designers, and product managers to create digital solutions that improve and simplify services for Reykjavik's residents and staff. As a team lead, Solveig plays a guiding and supportive role, fostering autonomy and self-management within the team. She is responsible for organizing and executing projects, helping the team stay focused on delivering high-quality software solutions that make a real impact. Over the past four years, her team has worked tirelessly to improve access to welfare services in Reykjavik. Their goal: to simplify collaboration across city departments and empower both residents and staff to use services more efficiently. Key solutions delivered by the team include: 1. School Services - Enhances and streamlines collaboration between the school, leisure, and welfare departments, ensuring children who need support receive timely and effective assistance. - Teachers can now initiate cases digitally, improving oversight and response times. - The solution ensures a clear and transparent support process for children with learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, or complex home situations. - Developed in collaboration with the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University — and even received international recognition: https://lnkd.in/eK4UUZ9u 2. The Advisor - Improves access to social counseling and city services. - Residents can book calls with advisors for personalized support. - All communications, self-assessments, and documents are accessible in one place, improving continuity and oversight. 3. Financial Assistance - Originally developed by Kolibri, this solution has been further enhanced by the team with new features, such as applications for transportation services for people with disabilities and seniors. - A simplified application process makes the service more accessible and efficient. These solutions are the result of outstanding collaboration between staff and contractors from Iceland and Poland, who have contributed with professionalism, passion, and care. They are part of Reykjavik's digital transformation, aiming for more efficient, transparent, and accessible services for all. Learn more: https://reykjavik.is/
