SeaBid

SeaBid was envisioned as a fully digital B2B platform that would connect seafood suppliers and buyers through real-time, transparent bidding — while integrating features like quality verification, transport coordination, and secure payments. The project received an innovation grant from Rannís, the Icelandic Centre for Research, recognizing its potential to transform seafood supply chains through technology. While the product has not yet gained commercial traction, the foundational work included UX prototyping, marketplace logic, auction workflows, supplier onboarding flows, and financial architecture — built using React, Firebase, and custom real-time bidding infrastructure. Seabid remains an example of bold, systems-level thinking applied to a fragmented global industry — and a reminder that impactful tech doesn't always go live on the first wave.
